What is the primary purpose of the Book, Chiseling the Stone, chapter 6: The Lesbian Superheroes?
I want to illustrate how the women in my life have helped, guided, and shaped my personal growth through their actions and lives.
I want my audience (women and lesbians) to feel the highs, lows, joys and triumphs of becoming who you really are. I will do this by citing my own experiences, pit falls, and journeys through loves, friends and enemies.
I believe that there is a common thought between women.
We can't stand each other. There is an underlying thread of distrust, gossiping and sometimes hatred. Women in general don't trust each other. We view each other as competition. Ironically for me personally, its hard to date women when I don't trust them.
Through my own experience with women I have learned a great truth. There is no difference between you and I.
I have been hurt, betrayed, lied to, cheated on, beaten, verbally abused, left, and emotionally tapped.
So have you.
I have hurt, betrayed, lied to, cheated on, verbally abused, left, physically hurt another, and emotionally browbeaten another.
If you are honest then you can say the same.
This book is about coming to terms with my own fears, judgments and truth. The fastest way to do so is through relationships. I have gained a deeper insight to myself through this past year. I have spent hours writing, praying, meditating, emotionally healing, studying the amazing layers of the proverbial onion. My hope is that I may reach other women, to give my knowledge and truth to you so that we may once and for all break the lines between us.
There are no differences, only preferences. We are all the same. Some of the heroes in my story are not lesbians, some are in fact men, and there is one dog. We learn from each other as we grow. I would appreciate comments and questions. Anything that you have experienced in your life that you believe can benefit other women. Please feel free to leave them on my comments or email.
Thank you,
With love, Sarah Author of the Stone People
