Jesus vs. The World
Posted: 19 Jul 2010 01:03 AM PDT
I love how Jesus turns the world on its head . . .
How does he view the poor? Blessed.
The hungry? Blessed.
The mourners? The hated? The excluded? The insulted? The rejected? Blessed. Blessed. Blessed. Blessed. Blessed.
What does he say about the rich? Woe.
The comfortable? Woe.
The well fed? Those who laugh now? Those who are celebrated?
Woe. Woe. Woe.
What should we do to our enemies? Love ‘em.
What if someone mistreats us? Pray for ‘em.
What if someone smacks us in the face? Turn the other cheek.
What if someone steals from us? Give ‘em more.

I really like his site and subscribed to his blog for "Get up with God" emails. Each day, during the week, I recieve a bible verse and his words interpretations to go with it. Although I believe some people differ with my personal opinion on God and homosexuals I have come to appreciate the bible for its inherent wisdom, ability to influence millions who otherwise meay be lost among this world.
However, the truth of abomination and liberation are not found in the preachers cursing the sinners, the harlots, and the homosexuals. No, the truth of the bible lies within the very words others would use against us, as a people, a culture and a nation. Regardless of orientation, such passages are used to cultivate weaker individuals in order to amass numbers and gain power.
This practice has ensued for 2000 years, with the exceptions of a few enlightened individuals along the way, this practice is the backbone of a civiliazation that is currently tearing itself apart. Playing the "Who's God is greater" game, seriously... Its time to leave grade school.
I promise your mother's back won't crack if you step on a crack.
I am not rubber nor are you glue, but what I say will stick to you as it sticks to me. The choice is what I choose to say,....
Romans 12:2 New International Version UK
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is— his good, pleasing and perfect will.
For those who see King James's Version as the difinitive source...
Romans 12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Renew your mind and be transformed to who you are and conform NOT to the world around you... only in this way are we following the word of God.
With Love and Light
